Camden Brett Bazzle! One Month NEW!
I can’t even believe that 4 weeks has flown by! I’ve learned so much in the past 4 weeks. There have been moments where I don’t feel like I know what I’m doing and other moments where I had to congratulate myself on any little achievement! There is no doubt about it, I’ve never known love like this. This little man is the best thing to ever happen to me! Of course Drake is included in that when I say the best thing that ever happened to me. I love our little family and I have to say, having Camden here has only made me love my husband more. It’s such an amazing feeling to see him interacting with our little man and being such a great Daddy. As most of you know, Drake is a 1st LT in the Army National Guard. 3 weeks after Camden was born, he was sent off to Savannah for his AT for 2 weeks to train. 5 days in and I’m exhausted but so far, so good. I’m making it on not a lot of sleep but lots of love, that’s for sure.
I always knew I could multi-task… but not like this! Never have I ever thought I would be pumping, feeding Camden and making sure I’m getting nutrients and eating a snack. It’s pretty hard to make sure that pump is attached all while making sure Camden is working on that bottle! Thank GOODNESS for my Hygeia pump and those Dr. Browns bottles!
Sleep? Who needs it! Camden has been sleeping about every 3 hours or so at night. He did go for 5 hours straight one night and that was glorious lol but I’m surviving on every 3 hours a couple times a night. He’s doing great and today he started playing on his play mat and touching the toys that were above him! Proud mommy moment for sure! He loved it!
He loves Baths… (who doesn’t love their hair being washed and head getting rubbed) He just hates getting out of them! (see below)
So can you still get cravings while you’re breastfeeding? I never ever really liked sweet potatoes, but man, I want them all the time right now. I even craved mini quiches and I had a bowl of spinach with dinner last night lol. WHO AM I?
Breastfeeding/Pumping has been quite the challenge. It’s a really hard thing to do! I think it’s almost as hard as the pregnancy itself! You have to make sure you’re pumping when he’s eating to keep your supply up, I don’t have to watch what you eat as much as I did when I was pregnant but I have to make sure I’m taking in a lot of calories to keep my supply up! By the time I start work, I plan on switching to formula. It’s going to be really hard to keep up with pumping and keep up with sleep when I have to wake up at 2:45 in the morning to get to work at 3:30am. I even posted on a breastfeeding group to get some advice on how to lose my supply… Let me just say, there are some cray cray breastfeeding mommies out there. I mean, no offense, but they are the most judgemental group of ladies I’ve ever witnessed! One girl told me that Elisabeth Hasselbeck pumped for years with all of her children while doing the View… Well, sorry chick but I don’t get a limo that picks me up for work everyday and she didn’t have to be to work as early as me, plus, she’s kind of a celebrity lol so you can imagine how much work she reallllyyyyy had to put in while at the office. I feel like I’ve at least gotten this far with the breastfeeding/pumping and he’s already used to the bottle, so it’s probably best for me to move on to formula… plus, can you imagine me leaking LIVE on tv? NO THANKS!
Well, 1 Month down… a lifetime to go 🙂 So happy to have this little man in my arms. I love him so much!
Love Mommy, Kelly Bazzle
